The Henley Street Bridge crosses the Tennessee River with a kind of heavy industrial presence — massive concrete arches, exposed structure and very little ornamentation. Against the winter river and Knoxville skyline, there’s an almost Rust Belt character to it: functional, imposing, and built for work rather than attention.
It may be Tennessee, but in this light, it feels a few hundred miles farther north.
