For more than a century, this bell has traveled across the water while the mountains of Lake Lucerne quietly pass behind it. Cast in 1897, it belongs to another age of travel — when a ship’s arrival was announced not by a screen or a speaker, but by the unmistakable ring of bronze across open water. The scenery changes with every mile. The bell remains.
