The farms and chalets of South Tyrol climb surprisingly high into the Dolomites, occupying every workable patch of the steep green hillsides. On this morning, the mountains themselves had nearly vanished into the clouds, leaving the scattered homes and intensely green meadows suspended beneath a ceiling of fog. It was one of those landscapes where the weather wasn’t getting in the way of the view — it was the view.
