At nearly 10,000 feet on Schilthorn, the scenery comes with a warning: watch where you put your feet.

A narrow trail cuts across the exposed mountainside, snow still hugging one edge while the other drops away toward a landscape thousands of feet below. There are no comfortable guardrails here—just a rope, a few posts, and the expectation that everyone involved will make good decisions.

The surrounding Alps are spectacular, but this is one of those places where admiring the view and watching where you’re going become competing priorities.

Beautiful? Absolutely. Relaxing? Not even slightly.
