The village of St. Magdalena sits in one of those improbable Dolomite settings where the scale never quite makes sense in a photograph. Brilliant spring meadows sweep down toward the village while dark forests climb toward mountains still carrying fresh snow. In the panorama, the landscape keeps unfolding — farms, scattered homes, forest and alpine ridges layered across the valley. The trail sign in the first photograph puts a name to the place; the second shows just how extraordinary that place actually is.
