Perched high above Vaduz, Vaduz Castle has watched over the valley for centuries and today remains the official residence of the Prince of Liechtenstein. Below it, the Cathedral of St. Florin rises from the capital with its distinctive Gothic Revival spire.

Together they tell two sides of this tiny country’s story — the castle on the hillside representing the principality and its ruling family, and the cathedral below anchoring the historic heart of Vaduz. On a gray, mist-covered day, the castle almost disappears into the mountains behind it, while the cathedral’s stone tower reaches sharply into the same unsettled sky.
