The trail behind Staubbach Falls plays a strange little trick on perspective. Climbing up, the steel stairs seem almost suspended from the mountainside, with Lauterbrunnen appearing through the gaps below. Coming back down, that same route disappears into the rock, twisting through a tunnel of steel, stone and shadow.

Same staircase. Same mountain. Two completely different experiences depending on which way you’re headed.
