The Bern Minster dominates the skyline of Switzerland’s capital, its extraordinary Gothic spire climbing more than 330 feet above the Old City. Construction began in 1421, but the tower would take centuries to reach its final height, completed in 1893. At 100.6 meters, it remains the tallest church tower in Switzerland—a monument whose intricate stonework seems to become more delicate the higher it reaches.
